Robert Duvall at Byrnley Farm

Spent a few minutes with Academy Award winning actor Robert Duvall at his Revolutionary War-era, 362-acre farm, known as Byrnley Farm, in The Plains, Virginia. Mr. Duvall was doing press for the upcoming film “Get Low” due out in a July 2010. Meeting Robert Duvall was a hoot but I have to admit, I was beyond words walking around his farm mostly built in the mid to late 1700′s. Without a doubt some of the most beautiful scenery in Virginia.

On the way home, I watched the trailer for his new movie and I am pretty excited about seeing it. Two of my favorite actors star in “Get Low” — Bill Murray and Robert Duvall.

So happy to see Bobby still in is love with horses and the Equestrian Sport. I was a guest at his farm Butcher’s Run with my horse Taipan which he leased from me. I will never forget and always treasure the warmth and hospitality that was shown to me by a great man. I miss you Bobby

I know for years Robert Duvall is one of my all time favorite actors. He is down to earth and really cares about his neighbors in Virginia. I’m so proud to have the last name of a significant human being.

Just saw the interview this morning on the TODAY show with Robert Duvall. Didn’t realize how down to earth he is. I love his movies, and wasn’t aware he in my backyard.

I was doing some genealogical research on my family and on coming to this website learned that Robert Duval ownes Bynley … the ancestal home of the first of the Byrne clan to live in what became America. I’m dumfounded. Robett Duval is my favorite male actor. I’m just blown away. I know Byrnley is in good hands.

When I lived out near you (1989-2002) ,and I attended a few tango night dance lessons ,I thought that was too –too cool for you being such a high profile guy to let us locals hang out and try to learn how not to step on each others feet , also I enjoyed chatting and shootin the shit with ya, at the ole Fiddlers Green Restaurant . Sadly, I no longer live in the beautiful Hunt Country ( divorce 2003) .. I still take my teenage children out that way,and teach them about Hunt Country life, and go to steeplechase races,Gold cup etc. etc. ,at one time, my youngest girl was in the ORANGE COUNTY PONY CLUB .

I have just discovered Middleburg, VA and have driven up two days in a row from Richmond to enjoy the magnificent scenery. Today is my birthday and “bumping” into Robert Duvall and having him wish me a happy birthday has been a day that will last for a very long time to come. One of my most favorite actors of all time – what a treat! I knew you lived in Virginia, Robert, but bumping into you never crossed my mind! I’m still on cloud 9!
